Welcome to the rococo art institute

With the support of a wealthy Rococo art collector, we are a museum museum devoted to the display and preservation of Rococo paintings.

Collection

Our collection at the Rococo Art Institute focuses on the French Rococo style with special interest on the paintings instead of architecture and design.

Use and Users

The museum is open to the general public, so conceivably our museum can serve any type of user. However, we recognize the need to focus on specific user groups that are more likely to visit our museum. Despite limiting our scope, these users still vary widely in education level, familiarity with visiting an art museum, and expertise in the Rococo art movement.

Preservation

In order to bring the rich and vibrant Rococo art style to the public, our institution is committed to the preservation and integrity of our Rococo painting collection.

Organization

When patrons enter the exhibit space, they will be taken through the “story” of the height of Rococo’s popularity, beginning with early works, progressing through to the latter days of the period, ending with artists who continued to paint in the style after the style’s peak.

Subject Access

Subject vocabulary for our French Rococo paintings include rocaille, fete galante, contraste, salon, baroque, neoclassicism, cherub, jocular, motif, secular, as well as a number of other terms.
